Julie was born and raised in Hiawassee, Georgia and moved to Blairsville 19 years ago after marrying her husband Greg. She is the mother of two wonderful children Joshua and Katelyn. She began her career with photography when her daughter started modeling and required constant photo submissions for magazines and advertisements. She has been the team photographer for her sons youth football team for the past 5 years and loved every second of the time she spent taking every picture not only for herself but for all the parents as well.
Once Julie realized that people wanted her to take pictures of their families, she decided it was time to branch out a little and open herself to fun new options. She started the New York Institute of Photography in early 2014 working on her Associates of Science in Digital Photography. This has helped her build technical, business, and marketing skills needed for Shutter Girls to become a successful business.
Billie......I am a resident of Union County. I was born in Florida, but raised right here in Blairsville. I met my husband, Jeff, when I was in High School. We have been married for 17 years. I am a mother of four, two boys, two girls. My oldest son, Joshua, just graduated High School and will be leaving for boot camp in August. He swore into the United States Navy back in October and has contracted for the Aviation Rescue Swim Program. Bailey, my daughter, will be a junior in high school, currently she is a lifeguard at our little community pool and is taking college classes this summer. She was awarded MVP of the Varsity High School Basketball Team as a Sophomore. Jonah, my youngest son, races S.O.R.C.S. dirt bikes and plays football for the middle school. He will be entering into the 8th grade this year. Last, but definitely not least, is my youngest daughter, Kennedy, she will be entering the 3rd grade. Tom boy all the way. She loves riding dirt bikes, four Wheeler's , bicycles, playing soccer, and basketball, and that girl loves her animals.
Photography started for me several years ago when the kids were in Recreation Ball. It began has a hobby. I would always be the parent snapping pictures of all the children on the team and sharing them with the parents. After about a year of being up at the ball fields snapping pictures for everyone, I was asked to make a personal CD for someone and at that moment I realized it was time for me to become more involved with my photography, in helping people capture those precious memories. I began my very own Facebook Page as Billie Daniel Photography. Ah yes, amateur, still so very young in the photography world. A year or so into this I met my partner in crime, Julie Ledford. She was taking pictures at her son's football game one afternoon and I was there taking pictures for a friend. We hit it off like we had known each other forever. I mentioned to her we should get together and start working as a team. It's so much easier at Recreational and School functions if you can have two cameras snapping instead of one.
As the years have passed, what started out as just a little hobby has turned into what is now Shutter Girls Photography.
